1.   When the transition is complete, stations will be required to surrender their analog channels to the federal government.

2.   Among them is the timetable for the broadcasters to return their existing analog channels to the government.

3.   After seven years of transition, the Federal Communications Commission would take back the analog channels and auction those off.

9.   The federal government wants to push the conversion process along, because it plans to repossess the old analog channels and auction them off for other uses.

10.   The new digital television frequencies can carry as many as six times the number of channels that current analog channels can.
