As a high pressure system drifts east from Louisiana, humid air will stream northward from the Gulf of Mexico. 3. As moist air streams northward over Pennsylvania, New York and western New England, freezing rain or drizzle will glaze deep valleys where low-level cold air stays trapped. 4. As warm, moist air streams inland from the Gulf of Mexico, a cold front will emerge from the southern Rockies. 5. Colder air will stream into the Carolinas and northern Georgia later in the afternoon. 6. Cool, moist air will stream into the Northwest as chilly weather from the north Pacific is drawn inland. 7. Cooler, less humid air will stream into the northern Ohio and central Mississippi valleys with sunshine returning to the Great Lakes region. 8. East of the disturbance, increasingly humid air will stream northward from the Gulf of Mexico into Texas. 9. For those flakes to fly, cold air must stream across the relatively warm Great Lakes. 10. Friday, humid air will stream into the northern Plains ahead of a jet stream disturbance associated with a Pacific cool front. |
