1.   Currently, federal agents can only tap a single phone.

2.   Under the old wiretap rules, agents can tap only a specific phone number.

3.   The agents apparently tapped private and office phones of those targeted.

4.   Under current law, government agents can tap any phone line used by a suspect if they can demonstrate the suspect is using multiple lines to evade surveillance.
