71. Periods of rain and drizzle will dampen much of northern New York and New England, however the highest mountains may have some wet snow. 72. Overnight, heavy wet snow is expected from interior New England to northeastern Pennsylvania. 73. Pockets of colder air over the higher terrain of northern Pennsylvania and upstate New York may lead to accumulations of ice or wet snow. 74. Precipitation may end as a period of wet snow in the Ozark Mountains. 75. Patches of wet snow will occur from central Iowa and southern Minnesota to central Wisconsin. 76. Rain may mix with wet snow at higher elevations farther inland. 77. Police throughout the state reported hundreds of accidents -- mostly fender benders and spinouts on roads layered with black ice and wet snow. 78. Rain will end as wet snow in much of New England. 79. Rain may briefly change to wet snow or even sleet in the metropolitan corridor from Philadelphia to Boston before ending by early afternoon. 80. Rain may end as wet snow in the upper peninsula of Michigan and northern Wisconsin. |
