71.   NATO defence ministers Wednesday called a meeting at the Hague next Monday of military chiefs from NATO states with troops in Bosnia to discuss strengthening of their troops there.

72.   Participants include police chiefs from Australia, Britain, Canada, Interpol and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.

73.   Secret service chiefs from the member countries of the CIS signed a cooperation accord in Belarus Friday, Interfax news agency reported.

74.   Security chiefs from both sides had been gearing up for new discussions after a session late Wednesday failed to produce a ceasefire declaration.

75.   Security chiefs from the Russian north Caucasus republics of Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria and Ingushetia also travelled to Khasavyurt for the meeting.

76.   Security ministers and police chiefs from Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Senegal and Nigeria attended the meetings.

77.   The amended constitution also bars traditional chiefs from participating in partisan politics.

78.   The European Commission Sunday said it had suspended development aid to Nigeria and recalled its delegation chief from Lagos following the execution of nine minority rights activists.

79.   The nine activists, including writer Ken Saro-Wiwa, were hanged after being convicted of murdering four pro-government chiefs from their Ogoni homeland in southeast Nigeria.
