51.   Dozens of Palestinians stoned Israeli soldiers in Hebron Thursday for a third day running and the troops responded with volleys of rubber bullets.

52.   The unnamed Defence Force soldier was stoned to death in the Thokoza black township east of here on Wednesday, police said.

53.   Meanwhile, students of a pro-HAMAS university stoned Israeli soldiers outside a settlement in the south of the strip, wounding a Palestinian policeman.

54.   Pockets of stone-throwers skirted police lines to stone the soldiers, who responded by firing rubber bullet and tear gas.

55.   Several dozen Palestinians also stoned soldiers Tuesday in Hebron, where Israeli troops stand guard over a Jewish settler enclave.
