41.   You can make your own whitewash by thinning down latex ceiling paint or white solid color latex stain.

42.   You could repaint after scraping and sanding, or better yet, use a solid color latex stain.

43.   You could use a latex solid stain, brushing it in well, and you could have any color you like, including white.
