42.   In the wake of low pressure in the Dakotas, there will be scattered showers in the Northern Rockies, especially over the higher terrain.

43.   In the West, snow showers will whiten the ground of the Bitterroot mountains and higher terrain of western Wyoming, while rain approaches northwest Washington.

44.   Isolated thunder will develop Monday afternoon, mainly in the higher terrain.

45.   Light snow will cover parts of Virginia and the higher terrain of the western Carolinas.

46.   Light to moderate snow will fall from western New York to Maine with more than six inches possible on the higher terrain of western New England.

47.   Likewise, air ascending the higher terrain of western New England will produce spotty snow showers in the Green and White mountain ranges.

48.   Light snow will also occur along portions of the Front Range as winds from the northeast ascend the higher terrain.

49.   Meanwhile, air descending the higher terrain will help dissipate the clouds near the Northeast coast, producing intervals of sunshine.

50.   Milder air from the Gulf of the St. Lawrence will bring periods of light snow to the higher terrain of northern New England.
