41.   PLO leader Yasser Arafat vowed Tuesday to disarm Moslem militants as clashes broke out with Palestinian police during a massive security sweep here after two suicide bombings.

42.   Palestinian police on Wednesday launched a drive to disarm Moslem militants in the wake of an anti-Israeli double suicide bombing which killed eight people.

43.   PLO leader Yasser Arafat called on Israel to help him disarm Moslem militants by preventing smuggling of weapons into the Gaza Strip, an official said.

48.   The ministry stressed that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat has an obligation to disarm Palestinian militants in the region, while Israel had a responsibility to avoid reprisal attacks.
