42.   And the American people will still be arguing about the best way to run the country.

43.   And on behalf of the American people I thank the many world leaders who have called to offer their condolences and assistance.

44.   And President Clinton wants to be able to assure Congress and the American people that he can withdraw combat troops within a year or so.

45.   And Rumsfeld expresses confidence that the Bush administration has made its case and has earned the continued support of the American people for prosecuting the war.

46.   And just as importantly, the American people know what they want, and what they do not want.

47.   And the American people support that.

48.   And the American people essentially decided that they would stick with us.

49.   And the American people have a pretty good detector about that.

50.   And the American people will have the satisfaction of having a true, undisputed, for-real champion.
