41. The defendants are accused of belonging to three separate but overlapping networks that served as support bases for the Islamic insurgency in Algeria, now in its seventh year. 42. The defendants are accused of hiring unemployed people or students, sending them to Peru, Chile and Colombia and arranging for them to smuggle cocaine back to Europe. 43. The defendants are accused of murder, genocide and crimes against humanity. 44. The defendants are accused of responsibility for the policy of shooting people trying to flee to the West. 45. The defendants were accused of lying in affidavits in an effort to extort a big settlement from Marion County in exchange for dropping a lawsuit. 46. The defendants were accused of providing weapons and false documents to the group, which is seeking to overthrow the Algerian government. 47. The defendants also are accused of plotting to murder Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and kidnap Henry Kissinger and President Nixon. 48. The defendants are accused of killing police officers and bombing banks in their campaign against the government. 49. The defendants were also accused of unlawful surveillance of police and government officials, illegal possession of arms and ammunition and membership in an outlawed organization. 50.
