31.   Russian forces began a heavy artillery bombardment late Thursday of the Chechen town of Gudermes where independence fighters had reportedly seized numerous Russian-held buildings.

32.   The fighters also seized a vehicle belonging to Youlo, telling him to come to Tubmanburg to collect it.
