21.   Nine victims remained in hospital Friday afternoon following the blast, which involved a nail bomb placed in a litter bin next to a newspaper kiosk.

22.   Police said they received a coded warning saying three devices had been placed in litter bins in Oxford Street and Regent Street.

23.   Patrols in railway and subway stations at the weekend removed all litter bins and handwritten notices were put up to explain that the measures were to protect the public.

24.   Security barriers were also erected outside all schools to prevent the risk of car bombs while all litter bins were sealed to prevent bombs being planted in them.

25.   The claim was received Friday night, a day after a bomb was planted in a litter bin near the Arc de Triomphe.
