21.   Dozens have died and tens of thousands have fled the province since forces loyal to former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic were ousted two years ago.

22.   Ethnic violence and related problems have continued however, and tens of thousands of Serbs fled the province in fear of revenge from ethnic Albanian extremists.

23.   Half a million Kosovar Albanians have fled the province in the past three weeks, the greatest mass displacement in Europe since World War II.

24.   However, NATO spokesman Kenneth Bacon said Saturday that many Serb civilians living in Kosovo will probably flee the province along with retreating Serb troops.

25.   Hundreds of Serbs are now fleeing the province, as ethnic Albania return to destroyed homes and fears of widespread atrocities against their people by Serb forces.

26.   It remains unclear whether those who have fled the province will opt to vote.

27.   More than a half-million Kosovar Albanians have fled the province since last month, the greatest mass displacement in Europe since World War II.

28.   More than half a million ethnic Albanians have since fled the province, pouring into Macedonia and Albania with tales of Serb terror.

29.   Most Albanians unable to flee the province stayed in hiding, after months of Serb rule.

30.   NATO began air strikes against Yugoslavia the following week and tens of thousands of ethnic Albanians have fled the province, bringing accounts of systematic brutality by Yugoslav forces.
