11.   This cloth will allow drainage but will pretty well prevent weeds from coming up.

12.   Water thoroughly, then mulch with a six- to eight-inch layer of straw to keep moisture in and to prevent weeds from growing.

13.   When frames surround raised beds, they prevent the weeds creeping in from the adjoining lawn or pathways.
