11.   The state Tanzania Railways Corp. owned and operated the ferry.

12.   At the same news conference, Johannes Johanson, director of the Estline firm which operated the ferry, suggested that the accident could have been caused deliberately.

13.   The SNAT, a subsidiary of the French SNCF state-owned railway company operates Sealink ferries jointly with the Swedish Stena company.

14.   Stena-Sealink operated three ferries on the Dover-Calais route and SNAT two, while revenues were split equally.

15.   The ferry was operated by the Swedish-Estonian firm Estline.
