11.   The next chancellor, Rudolph F. Crew, who takes office Monday, said he intended to meet with Mills and the Regents to discuss the review.

12.   The regents also confirmed Harvard Provost Albert Carnesale as the next chancellor of UCLA, replacing Charles Young.

13.   This could give them a say in choosing the next chancellor.
