11.   Courts in Rheinland Palatinate, Thueringia and Schleswig-Holstein have ruled for acceptance of the new grammar.

12.   German author Guenter Grass has rallied intellectuals, journalists and professors to protest the decision to switch to the new grammar.

13.   If new grammar should be overturned, it could have a devastating impact on textbook publishers.

14.   So far, five state courts have ruled against and five in favor of the new grammar.

15.   The dispute reached parliament in April, when a committee was called together to decide whether or not to use the new grammar in official documents.

16.   The five-judge administrative court ruled in favor of the plaintiff and stipulated that new grammar may not be taught in any classes his children attend.

17.   The Goethe Institute, the internationally known German language school, has said it would boycott the new grammar.
