11. Gambia, a mainly Moslem country of just over a million people, is surrounded by Senegal on all sides except for its Atlantic coast. 12. He also added that it was not practised in many Moslem countries such as Saudi Arabia and other Gulf monarchies. 13. He also called on Moslem countries to study different interpretations of human rights. 14. He noted that the Hejab -- a black overcoat with a scarf worn by women in many Moslem countries -- does not conform to Islamic Sharia law. 15. He pointed out that this policy had enabled Moslem countries such as Indonesia and Iran to reduce their birthrates. 16. He added that the rebels were still receiving money and weapons from various movements in Moslem countries. 17. He admitted, however, that the Islamic organization had not been able to contribute to a settlement in other Moslem countries such as Somalia and Afghanistan. 18. He said the decision had not yet been implemented but warned that Moslem countries would not wait for approval from the UN Security Council. 19. He is to travel on to Iraq, another Moslem country with which the United States is at odds. 20. He said it was necessary for Moslem countries to get themselves organised to map out a more effective strategy to assist the Bosnians. |
