11.   Japanese electric machinery makers greeted the short-term benefits from a weaker yen but stressed they needed to expand offshore operations and increase imports of parts.

12.   Japanese electrical machinery giants Hitachi Ltd. and Toshiba Corp. announced Thursday plans to cooperate in the field of next-generation high-speed networking products for the Internet and intranets.

13.   Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, a major Japanese heavy machinery maker, will provide a steel rolling system for the plant.

14.   Sumitomo Heavy Industries, another Japanese heavy machinery maker, will supply a mold system for the South Korean steelmaker, they said.
