11.   A Somali faction said it had arrested a man in connection with the murder of a Portuguese doctor.

12.   All PLO factions have said that they would take part in the meeting, except for the militant Islamic groups, Hamas and the Islamic Jihad.

13.   All the factions say they want to establish an Islamic government, and the battle is seen as a raw power struggle.

14.   An Iraqi Kurdish faction says its rival has seized the Parliament building by force and compromised the only institution not mired in their bloody rivalry.
