11.   The main areas of growth have been in inter-bank deposits, certificates of deposit and the foreign currency markets.

12.   Although Sakakibara is known for his influence in the currency market, his comments had little impact, traders said.

13.   Also, the dollar declined on world currency markets, making the value of dollar-denominated investments like government securities less attractive to foreign investors.

14.   Among his priorities he said were protecting savings accounts, restoring the currency market, and preserving the banking system.

15.   And a world barometer for financial credibility, the currency markets, increasingly behave as if the euro were already a fact of life.

16.   And neither the currency market nor the Japanese bond market has yet shown much movement.

17.   And if the dollar buys as much today as it did in June, its value on the currency markets will hold up too.

18.   And not everybody likes the way Sakakibara has prodded Japan into diving into the currency market more aggressively.

19.   And traders said that the small drop in stocks and no change in bonds indicated flexibility in markets that might act independently of developments in the currency markets.

20.   And Vice Finance Minister Tadashi Ogawa said Japan will closely monitor the currency market and take action at the appropriate time if necessary.
