11. Gastrin receptor blocking agents have been shown to bring about significant inhibition of growth in several cell lines. 12. The potential autocrine grown effects of gastrin in colorectal cancer have previously been studied using cell lines. 13. Gastrin receptors have been found in guinea pig pancreatic acini and in an azaserine induced rat carcinoma cell line. 14. A human gastric cell line is now available, the properties of which have been partially characterised. 15. We have also found HPV DNA sequences in three cell lines of colorectal cancer from Chinese subjects. 16. All transformed cell lines were examined by Southern blot hybridisation. 17. Other cell lines, however, in this assay were all negative. 18. The tumours were then removed to establish another cell line for future studies. 19. In other words, cell lines derived from tumours of the same tissue may contain two different transforming genes. 20. Pancreatic cancer cell lines overexpress epidermal growth factor receptors and also have the capacity to produce transforming growth factor, the altrnate agonist of the EGF receptot. |
