2.   As part of a crew swap, Solovyev, who came up on Atlantis with another Russian and five Americans, will remain behind to run the Russian outpost.

3.   Astronaut Andy Thomas has prepared to replace Wolf as the last of seven U.S. visitors to the Russian outpost.

4.   Atlantis will return to Earth with Michael Foale, an astronaut who has weathered some tense months on the Russian outpost.

5.   Atlantis will carry a custom docking module for attachment to the Russian outpost to ease the comings and goings of U.S. shuttles over the next two years.

6.   A more elaborate attempt is planned for Monday as the crew of the shuttle Discovery departs the Russian orbital outpost after a four-day visit.

7.   Budarin and Musabayev remain on Mir with astronaut Andy Thomas, the seventh and final American assigned to the aging Russian outpost.

8.   Cosmonauts also install a new motion-control computer on the aging Russian outpost.

9.   During a six-day linkup with the Russian outpost, the Atlantis crew exchanged American David Wolf for Foale.

10.   Foale will live and work on the Russian outpost until mid-September.
