1. Among stock funds, make sure your money is divided among large cap funds, small to mid-caps, international and riskier issues. 2. And when it stops, or reverses, large caps will no longer enjoy their performance advantage. 3. And, despite their surge in May, small caps continue to lag far behind large caps this year. 4. As it turned out, though, none caught up with the large caps. 5. A. There are exceptions, mid- to small-cap stocks appear much more attractively valued than large caps. 6. A. Traditionally, small caps are financially more vulnerable than large caps, because credit markets tighten up on them. 7. After easily outpacing large-cap stocks in May, small-cap stocks have once again surrendered their leadership role to large caps this month. 8. But large cap technology names got most of the attention. 9. But small caps were outperforming large caps as we entered this downturn. 10. But small caps, while better performers over the long run, are riskier than large caps. |
