1.   An unusually intense storm over northern New England will bring autumn-like conditions to the higher terrain of the Northeast.

2.   Areas of clouds and showers will be common especially near the coast and over the higher terrain from the Cascades to the northern Rockies.

3.   As a result, snow showers will be common near the eastern Great Lakes and over the higher terrain of New England.

4.   As chilly winds from the east ascend the higher terrain, several inches of snow are possible near Denver.

5.   As the damp air ascends the higher terrain of the interior mountains, it will cool setting the stage for heavy snow across the Sierra.

6.   As the moist winds ascend the higher terrain to the east, showers will dampen the Bitterroots.

7.   A deck of low clouds will cover the area, except east of the Appalachians where winds descending the higher terrain will cause clouds to break.

8.   A complex storm over the southern Rockies will produce snow in the higher terrain of western Colorado and in the Four Corners area.

9.   A few afternoon storms are likely in the higher terrain of New Mexico and northern Arizona.

10.   A few showers are also possible over the higher terrain of the intermountain West.
