1.   American Mike Foale and Russians Vasily Tsibliev and Alexander Lazutkin escape death by quickly sealing off the damaged Spektr module from the remainder of the orbital station.

2.   After donning bulky spacesuits and unsealing Spektr, the Russians plan to enter the damaged module through a narrow portal.

3.   He said there was no reason to think dangerous chemicals were swirling inside the damaged module.
