1.   After the summit, former Tanzanian President Julius Nyrere, who has led efforts to end the fighting, admonished the Burundian leaders to maintain their unity.

2.   Burundian leader Maj. Pierre Buyoya left Wednesday for Libreville, Gabon where he will participate in the annual meeting of the so-called ACP countries.
