1. Before drilling, secure the work piece in a vise. 2. Can you get the work piece through the blade, or over the cutter, accurately without bringing your hands too close to the blade or the cutter? 3. Don safety goggles and a good quality dust mask when cutting or drilling plastic, and secure all work pieces in a vise or with clamps. 4. If you get a lot of vibration through the work piece, take a smaller bite. 5. Once the work piece is round, the bottom has to be flattened and leveled to take a glue block. 6. Once properly fitted, as close to the top of the work piece as possible, it prevents whipping and vibration. 7. The angle is now set, and you can easily transfer it to your work piece. 8. The narrow taper also makes it easy to align the tool in the work piece. 9. The waste block, screwed to a faceplate, is glued with Hot Stuff to the work piece. 10. When the board emerges from the other end of the planer, you have a work piece that is thinner, but it is still cupped and still twisted. |
