1.   The original loft had been taken down and the balustrade removed to the west end to form a gallery.

2.   When my father was growing up, they lived in the west end of Chicago and they were poor.

4.   The Abbey Church evolved from the early Christian basilica and early examples still had the altar at the west end.

5.   The altar remained at the west end in a number of cases.

6.   Many of these have tall towers, sometimes with spires, generally set at the west end.
