1.   So many new parties, most vowing political reform, sprang up that there was not enough office space to accommodate them in the parliamentary building.

2.   They also have vowed agrarian reform for the hardscrabble countryside where a third of the population lives.

3.   It vowed further reforms in the telecommunications, transport, energy and financial services.

4.   Kumaratunga has also vowed constitutional reforms and pledged to scrap the executive presidency and revert to a parliamentry system of government by the middle of this year.
