1. He said the law should specifically target violent offenders, rather than drug-related offenses and less serious crimes. 2. It was said that Wandsworth and Brixton gaols were relieved of their less violent offenders to join this service. 3. Although neither representative thinks violent offenders should be released, they have different ideas as to what caused the crowding and how it should be fixed. 4. At the same time, the Pataki administration has worked through the state parole board to reduce significantly the number of violent offenders who are granted parole. 10. A third change would restore a provision allowing local authorities to notify residents when a violent sexual offender is released into a community. |
