1.   And tumors that grew in the treated mice were significantly smaller than those in the untreated mice, researchers said.

2.   The injected mice resembled the fasting mice in the way they lost body tissue, but the injected mice lost more weight than the untreated mice.

3.   The mice also got healthier and did better on a test of general behavior than untreated mice.

4.   The now-healthy mice and some untreated mice then were fed a high-fat diet for three months before undergoing autopsies.
