2.   On Wednesday, as a trailing pool of high-altitude cold air arrived, an unconfirmed tornado touched down near Salem.

3.   Severe weather marched across much of the Southeast Wednesday, producing heavy rains, high winds, large hail and several unconfirmed tornadoes.
