1.   Pakistani police said Saturday that Indian troops rained mortar shells on border villages in the Samani sector of Kashmir over the weekend, killing three people and wounding one.

2.   Troops had rained shells on the mountains throughout the night, soldiers said.

3.   The spokesman also said that southern troops rained heavy artillery against northern forces in Lahaj province just north of Aden.

4.   Northern troops rained shells on the frontline districts early Wednesday, a military spokesman said.
