2.   The monks, members of the Trappist order, were kidnapped from their mountain monastery Wednesday by a group of armed men believed to be Muslim militants.

3.   The Trappist order has indicated that the monastery will become a pilgrimage site.

4.   Meanwhile, a member of the Trappist order said Friday in Rome that seven monks kidnapped from a monastery near Medea in late March were still alive.

5.   The head of the Trappist order said no contact had been made with the kidnappers.
