1. Among the other plants that will get a ration of my limited water supply are newly transplanted trees and shrubs. 2. Being strangled by its own roots is one common cause of decline and possibly the eventual death of a transplanted tree. 3. But transplanted trees need all the food they can produce to support the regrowth of those lost roots. 4. Transplanted trees need as many leaves as possible to produce food to regenerate their roots. 5. --Watering moats should be only for freshly transplanted trees. |
