1. As heel height climbs, pressure on the ball of the foot can double and increase pressure on the forefoot as it is pushed into the pointed toe box. 2. Avoid shoes with pointed toe boxes, unless that happens to match the shape of your foot. 3. A wide toe box, or narrow heel? 4. For maximum comfort, go with a wider toe box or open toe. 5. Good boots will have a firm heel, a flexible forepart, heavily lugged soles for traction, padding around the ankles and a high, wide toe box. 6. High heels often have a pointy, narrow toe box that crowds toes and squeezes them into an unnatural triangle. 7. Select shoes with soft leather or suede or, better yet, elastic in the toe box, which will conform better to the shape of your feet. 8. Shoes with ample toe boxes are a good first step. 9. The pointed toe box is really detrimental. 10. Toe box is painfully narrow. |
