1.   A soft-covered blade with a threaded hole in the center into which one screws a short pole.

2.   A turnbuckle is a steel sleeve with a central slot and a threaded hole at either end.

3.   Instead they are screwed into threaded holes.

4.   The plastic now has a threaded hole that will accept a new screw of the same size.
