1.   Serbs were close to taking the enclave last week, but local defenders refused to surrender because they feared being detained.

2.   The Serbs are trying to take the enclave from the Muslim government army.

3.   There have been no reports from Zepa refugees of atrocities by the Serbs, as there were two weeks ago when the Serbs took the Srebrenica enclave.

4.   When Serbs finally took the enclave, they sought revenge for what they said was a Muslim slaughter of hundreds of Serbs in neighboring villages.

5.   Erdemovic pleaded guilty Friday to charges linked to the massacre of Moslem civilians after the Serbs took the enclave of Srebrenica in eastern Bosnia in July last year.

6.   Thousands of men are believed to be in Serb hands after their forces took the enclave.

7.   Ukrainian peacekeepers in the UN safe area were still unable to confirm the Bosnian Serb claim that they had taken the enclave, Ivanko said.
