1.   Muslims in Turkmenistan are of the Sunni faith, and do not share the Islamic fundamentalism that has swept their neighbors in Iran and Afghanistan.

2.   Wahhabism is an offshoot of the Sunni faith practiced in most of the Islamic world.

4.   Temporary marriages are condoned in the Shiite Muslim faith but not in the Sunni faith.
