1.   Scorching down the straightaway, I slowed, downshifted, and tried to power through the first turn, stomping the gas in second gear.

2.   Stomp the gas and the throttle opens wide, sucking in air for a lean, turbo-boosting leap even before extra fuel starts to flow.

3.   Stomp the gas, and a controlled rumble moves right up through the seats.

4.   Unfortunatley, the five-speed automatic had a noticeable shift-up lag when the gas was stomped.

5.   You get a throaty, basso rumble that veritably roars when you stomp the gas on the highway.
