1.   By using the push buttons you can run the lace patterns in narrow strips between stocking stitch.

2.   If a warm fabric is needed, it is usually better to use narrow stripes of stocking stitch separating bands of weaving.

3.   If you have the body of a sweater in cable strips you might leave the sleeves in stocking stitch.

4.   Knit a hem in the usual way in stocking stitch ending with the carriage at the right.

5.   Knit two rows of stocking stitch between transfers.

6.   Once you have stocking stitch between simple lace strips you can transfer the stocking stitches to make a narrow cable pattern also.

7.   To make the needles knit, the carriage must be set as for stocking stitch.

8.   Transfer alternate stitches and knit two rows of stocking stitch throughout, always transferring in the same direction.

9.   Cast on and knit a few rows of stocking stitch in your main yarn .
