1.   A momentary drop in pressure in the system that steers the shuttle triggered an alarm.

2.   The rudder is used to steer the shuttle as it descends to a landing and to brake the ship as it speeds down the runway.

3.   Commander Kent Rominger manually steered the shuttle through its final paces to hook up with the station over the South Pacific, near New Zealand.

4.   Shortly after the liftoff of Atlantis on Friday, a small leak of hydraulic fluid from one of the systems used to steer the shuttle was detected.

5.   Space officials indicated later, however, that they had detected a small leak of hyraulic fluid from one of the systems used to steer the shuttle.
