1.   A convergence of steel prices in Eastern and Western Europe is sparking hope that steel imports from behind the former Iron Curtain have peaked.

2.   Certain steel imports from Argentina and South Africa are hurting U.S. steel companies, the U.S. International Trade Commission ruled Friday in a unanimous decision.

3.   The panel decided that concrete steel reinforcing bars imported from Indonesia, Poland and Ukraine are being sold at artificially low prices and hurting American companies.

4.   Turkey is also expected to ask for exemptions to U.S. restrictions on iron and steel imports.

5.   A report in The Washington Post said steel imported from Canada and Mexico would be exempt from tariffs because of their status under the North American Free Trade Agreement.
