1.   As negative controls, additional sections were stained with appropriately diluted normal rabbit or sheep sera.

2.   Sections were stained with haematoxyling and eosin.

3.   When the sections were stained with elastase red and yellow none of the EGF positive vessels were stained.

4.   The sections were stained with haematoxylin and eosin, Alcian blue -- periodic acid Schiff, and Grimelius techniques.

5.   One section was stained with haematoxylin and eosin for histological evaluation.
