In the East, a strong warming trend will develop from the lower Mississippi Valley to the west slopes of the Appalachians as breezes from the southwest increase. 6. Milder air accompanied by plentiful sunshine will surge from the northern Rockies into the Plains and northern Mississippi valley as winds from the southwest increase. 7. Mild air will surge north along the Atlantic Seaboard as breezes from the southwest increase ahead of the cool front. 8. The hot air mass will surge temporarily into the southern Great Lakes on Thursday as breezes from the southwest increase ahead of a cold front. 9. The Middle Atlantic states will be partly to mostly sunny and mild as breezes from the southwest increase. 10.
