1.   A Beijing man has been convicted of buying smuggled African ivory and could face a death sentence, a court official said Friday.

2.   Xu and another man, Li Zhehua, were charged with buying smuggled ivory and reselling it to handicraft factories and individuals.

3.   Hong Kong customs seized a consignment of smuggled ivory, believed to be the largest in recent years, officials said Thursday.

4.   The case is the biggest ever in China involving smuggled ivory, the newspaper said.
