1.   Concern that some areas had been inadequately visualised led to colonoscopy and the discovery of four more patients with small adenomas.

2.   Angiodysplasia of the caecum was found in one patient who also had a small adenoma.

3.   The contribution to anaemia made by mild degrees of oesophagitis or small adenomas is unclear.

4.   Four small adenomas were missed radiologically but the importance of such lesions remains debatable and they are unlikely to contribute to substantial blood loss.
