1.   Signing outfielder Brian Jordan is no longer an option for the Yankees, now that he has agreed to a five-year deal with the Atlanta Braves.

2.   The Anaheim Angels have considered the possibility of signing outfielder Wil Cordero, who was designated for assignment Monday by the Cleveland Indians.

3.   The Chicago Cubs are no closer to signing outfielder Sammy Sosa and have talked with the Rangers.

4.   The Rangers also are debating the merits of signing outfielder Ruben Rivera to a Triple-A contract.

5.   The Yankees are close to signing outfielder Henry Rodriguez.

6.   The club also is reportedly interested in signing outfielder Juan Gonzalez as a free agent.
